Amid nationwide lockdown within the wake of coronavirus outbreak, the Uttar Pradesh government sealed inter-state borders. The trucks carrying essential items were, however, allowed to enter and attend other states like Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Uttarakhand to make sure that the availability chain isn't disrupted.

There is a smooth movement of vehicles carrying essential items at the Chandauli district which shares border with Kaimur district of Bihar.

Trucks carrying vegetables and fodder were seen crossing from Bihar to Chandauli with none disruption when  team visited the state border to try to to a reality check.

Chandauli Police has placed barricades to see vehicles. Trucks and loaders carrying essential supplies are being allowed to cross over.

Prem Chand, additional SP of Chandauli, said, "The state border has been sealed by placing barricades. We are only allowing vehicles carrying essential items that even have passes. Locals aren't being allowed to cross the border. The Bihar Police is additionally strictly enforcing the lockdown. The police are working 24 hours at the border to implement the orders within the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic."

Pilibhit district in Uttar Pradesh is bordered with Udham Singh Nagar district of Uttarakhand. At the state border, check post cops are keeping a decent vigil to make sure effective implementation of the 21-day lockdown. At the border, non-essential vehicles and locals aren't being allowed to cross the check post.

The authorities have sealed borders with Nepal but trucks carrying petroleum are being allowed to cross over.

Thermal screening of truck drivers getting to Nepal and coming from the opposite side is being done on the orders of the govt . A team of doctors has also been deployed at the border check post.
