Sunglasses can be used in any season. It protects the eyes from dust and also keeps them away from diseases. It is often seen that people focus more on the look rather than looking at the UV protection quality while buying it. Shouldn't do that.

Macular Degeneration: The macula (the part of the eye where the light-sensing cells are located and due to which we are able to see clearly) damages due to excessive exposure of the eyes to ultraviolet rays.
