Coronavirus: Pakistan asks foreign diplomats to limit movement

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Pakistan has directed all the foreign missions within the country to impose restrictions on the movements of its diplomats amid a surge within the cases of coronavirus.

It has asked the foreign missions to support the measures adopted by the govt of Pakistan and impose restrictions and limitations on the movement of diplomats.

As per the notification, Pakistan ministry has asked all foreign missions, diplomatic corporations, UN agencies, funds and international organizations in Islamabad to support the measures adopted by the govt to contain the spread of Covid-19.

"All diplomatic missions in Pakistan are requested to call a bare minimum number of local staff for work, read the notification.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs avails itself to the present opportunity to renew to all or any diplomatic missions, UN Agencies, Funds, and International Organisations in Islamabad the reassurance of its highest consideration, the notification added.

Indian High Commission (IHC) is additionally choosing an equivalent protocol.
